At Tollchester we breed our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers for family's looking for a versatile pet. We strongly believe tollers should have a 'off switch' which makes it easy for them to go from laying on the couch watching tv with the family to running around with the children. Our tollers live on acreage as well as in city homes, appartments and condos. The key to a happy toller is excercise and leadership!
**Tollers have shown they have abilities to be not just wonderful family companions but also good show dogs, obedience dogs, agility dogs, flyball dogs, lure coursing dogs, dock diving dogs, therapy dogs, field dogs and pretty much any venue their owner desires!**
Our tollers are home raised in Rosedale BC which is about a hour and a half East of Vancouver and 3 hours North East of Seattle. Our home is located in a quiet country setting on acerage with access to plenty of exquisite wetlands, lakes and rivers for our tollers to frolic in.
We strive for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers who are sound both in body and mind. This is why health, temperament and conformation (body type) are our top priorities for our tollers at Tollchester. These three elements are a major part of creating a mentally and physically sound companion for an active family. **All our puppies come with contracts that contain "the best" health guarantees you can get for your toller**
Since 2002 our tollers have been showing their versatility and making history! We are proud to have had a plethora of champion tollers world wide - including the first female best in show toller, the first reserve best in show toller, the first best baby puppy in show toller, we have had multiple best puppy in show tollers, multiple best puppy in specialty show tollers, top 10 tollers in Canada from 2003-present, top 10 tollers in the USA in 2004, as well as tollers who have achieved awards at national specialty shows, regional specialty shows, westminster, eukanuba, crufts and many european dog shows! Our tollers aren't just achieving beauty awards, many of our tollers play in sports events where they have recieved preformance titles in agility, obedience, therapy and hunting! We are very proud of what our dogs have accomplished and very thankful for their owners who are dedicated to helping reach these goals.
Many of the tollers that are within our breeding program at Tollchester do not live with us. We place a majority of our breeding dogs into family homes on co-ownerships or foster contracts to ensure each dog has the attention and training it deserves. We are greatful to have such a comitted network of families helping us preserve this wonderful breed.
We take pride in raising our puppies and all our litters are raised in our home 'under foot' with proper socialization and care. All our tollers include a written contract (which generally includes rebates on spay/neuter and health clearances), Canadian or American Kennel Club registration, tattoo or microchip, temperament testing, structure evaluations, vaccine(s), and a vet check. For anyone interested in breeding we also offer mentorship or foster programs.
We transport our dogs internationally and are familuar with many of the laws and qualifications regarding shipping. We are alway happy to keep a promising puppy to ship overseas and have sent dogs to Hawaii, Sweden, Belgium, Germany and England.
